Missouri Cannabis Industry Association Announces Medical Cannabis Events
On Saturday, February 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Charles Opera House, 311 N. Main Street, in St. Charles, MCIA will present a cannabis business seminar featuring an appearance by Dr. Randall Williams, Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services.
Dr. Williams will discuss the process by which patients can be qualified to cultivate and purchase cannabis, as well as the licensing process for those who hope to engage in the business of providing medical marijuana to Missouri patients.
Other speakers include Certified Public Accountant, Paul Bocci. Mr. Bocci is a member of the New Approach Missouri Amendment 2 Campaign Committee. He will discuss how dispensary operators can deal with the problems presented by IRS Regulation 280e which prohibits deducting operating expenses by medical marijuana businesses.
Other speakers at the event will discuss all aspects of the implementation of Amendment 2, now Article 16 of the Missouri Constitution. Topics covered will include practical aspects of dispensary operation, as well as personal cultivation by patients and commercial cultivation by those licensed to do so.
This seminar will be MCIA’s first such event to take place since the passage of Amendment 2 on November 6. Amendment 2 received more votes than any of the half-dozen other issues on the ballot and more votes than any state-wide candidate.
